Warranty FAQs

Q: What do I need to bring with me to redeem my warranty?

A: You will need to bring your receipt (in order to verify date of purchase and plant purchased) with you as well as the plant itself**. Please call our garden center if you encounter any issues with getting the plant to us; we are happy to help.

**Please note: if your plant does not appear dead just yet, leave it in the ground! Contact us and we will advise further steps.

Q: Is my replacement plant warrantied?

A: Since this plant was not purchased at full price, it does not have a warranty.

Q: What happens when I bring my plant in to be redeemed?

A: We will inspect the plant to try to determine what went wrong. Often, a simple tweak in watering, feeding, or care will be the solution for a happy plant. We are here to help you in your gardening journey, and we love passing on our plant knowledge! Please note that if a plant is still living, the warranty does not take effect.

Q: Can I choose a different plant?

A: If your plant is covered by our warranty, we will provide a plant from our garden center of equal value, or you may use the credit towards a plant of greater value that is available in our garden center. Replacement plants must be chosen the day of the warranty redemption.

Plants are living material, and as such, do require tending in the first stages of life in the ground in order to grow into happy, healthy plants. The UMN Extension Service offers some excellent guides:

We do not warranty against lack of proper care as defined by normal horticultural standards, negligence on part of the owner, animal and pest damage, winterkill, and/or acts of God.

If you notice that your plant appears to be doing poorly, and it has been 30 days or more since you planted it in the ground, give us a call! We are here to help diagnose any issues and get your plant on the right track for a long and happy life.

Plants not covered under our warranty:

  • Annuals
  • Veggies/Herbs
  • Azaleas
  • Rhododendrons
  • Arborvitae
