Turnips pair nicely with other root vegetables like beets, carrots, and rutabagas. Roasted turnips are a great side for rich meats like beef, sausages, or lamb but they can also be sautéed in butter and served with mushrooms and cream.
If you plan on storing your turnip harvest over the winter in a root cellar, make sure to trim all the leaves, brush off any large clumps of soil, and pack them into bins with sawdust, sand, or dry leaves to keep them from drying out.
Instructions - Sow seeds outdoors as soon as soil can be prepared in spring. Plant every 2 weeks for continuous harvest. Quality and flavor are best if harvested when weather is cool.
